On Saturday night, with Anthony Morse’s able conducting, harp pluckings and drum taps gave Tsu’s loom fateful accents.  As Tsu, the soprano Tomoko Shibata acted with such finely controlled sensitivity that her sometimes tight and light voice added to Tsu’s fragility.  Charles Abruzzo was an engaging and touchig simpleton as Yohyo: Jerome Mann and Dennis Raley were his greedy tempters.  (Edward Rothstein)
